Life Hi everyone, I'm enjoying life with my teenage son, Ryan, still at home with me. I work at an amazing job teaching children to enjoy science in a program called "Mad Science". It is my dream job because I get to spend quality time with children (my favourite type of people) and turning them on to science is awesome. It was always my favourite subject at school but this program takes science to the kids with unbelievable hands-on experiments. I'm also a writer, working on a book about my late uncle who died a hero after the sinking of his ship on April 16, 1945. It was the last Canadian ship to be sunk and his story begs to be told. I haven't ventured far from where I grew, still living in East York. I love it here because it is like a small town encased in a big city. I have, however, lived in Cuba where I have spent more than 20 years doing humanitarian aid work. I met and married my husband, Pedro, in Varadero, Cuba but currently we are living in separate countries. Thankfully, we continue to be best friends.
